LX's next open audition is for 'Pornography' by Simon Stephens.
The following roles are available:
A mother (female) - monologue
A suicide bomber (male) - monologue
A mature lady (female) - monologue
A pair of siblings (male or female) - duologue
A professor and student (male or female) - duologue
Another student and teacher (male or female) - duologue
Ensemble cast (male or female)
Auditions will involve:
All male auditionees reading a section from the suicide bomber monologue
All female auditionees reading a section from the mother monologue
All auditionees will workshop the student/teacher duologue
Also, we are looking for a male and a female understudy that will be guaranteed at least one performance during the full 7-day run. They will otherwise be involved in the emsemble.
Open auditions for all roles will be held on Wednesday 14th December at Fleetdown Community Centre, Swaledale Road, Dartford (DA2 6JZ) from 19:30 onwards.
Production details:
Rehearsals for this will be on Mondays and Wednesday evenings, which start from Wednesday 25th January 2023 through to show-week.
This will be produced as follows:
3 nights at Fleetdown Community Centre, Swaledale Road, Dartford DA2 6JZ from Thursday 20 - Saturday 22 April 2023.
Saturday 22nd will be our Kent Drama Association Full Length Play Festival entry for 2023.
4 nights at The Vaults Theatre, Launcelot Street, London SE1 7AD from Wednesday 26 - Saturday 29 April 2023
In order to audition:
you will need to be available for both rehearsal evenings as this is an ensemble piece
you will need to be available for both of the above production runs (Dartford and London) for the London production at the Vaults, you will need to provide for your own travel to the venue.
you must be amateur or non-Equity associated (please note that is a non-paid-for performance)
