It's a tax write-off. This is where they send the new, the under-qualified, the old. And most of all the British. Mars is full of blonde Americans. It s like they re building the master race out there. An acutely sensitive, moving portrayal of the lives of a group of women which reflects the attitudes and feelings of women today, depicted in a series of settings which flow gently into each other. Caroline, pregnant by one of her boyfriends, escapes to her seaside birthplace where she is visited by friends. The reaction of these women to each other whilst awaiting the birth is sympathetically told and we become totally involved in the heights and depths of their collective emotions and thoughts.

buckets by Adam Barnard

Show dates: 5th and 6th July 2024

Fleetdown Community Centre

Director: Georgia Robinson-Steele and Courtney Hall

How to fill what's left of your day. How to fill the rest of your days. Sick buckets, bucket rattling, bucket lists, buckets of love.

Wry, emotive, funny and heartfelt, buckets is a play with a unique perspective on a universal dilemma: how do you deal with the fact that time always runs out?

Across thirty-three interconnected scenes – some just a few lines, others mini-plays in their own right – buckets swings through a kaleidoscopic world of sadness and happiness, illness and health, youth and experience, kissing and crying, singing and dying.

buckets premiered at the Orange Tree Theatre, Richmond, in May 2015.
